This fantastic article shows how instead of allowing ourselves to be wrapped up in the constant stream of information, we must allow ourselves to live life with less distractions. Below is a quick tip guide to living distraction-less.

Turn off your smart phone notifications. Go to settings and turn off your notifications for the night or for a period of time. You would be surprised just how much you can get done when your phone isn’t buzzing or lighting up for every little notification.

Complete quick, easy tasks immediately. If there is a little project like folding the laundry or unloading the dishwasher, that is weighing on your mind while you try to study, just go do it! It is not procrastination. It may help you sit back down and feel at ease just doing an assignment or studying.

Remove physical and digital clutter. Keep your desk tidy and organized, everything out of eyesight is less likely to distract you. That goes for digital clutter like computer notifications or open tabs in your browser. Out of sight, out of mind!

Keep a to-do list. Whenever you feel yourself getting distracted, grab your to-do list. What is on your list you can do quickly? What can you cross off your list? It will keep you focused on productive tasks.

The last one is easier said than done. Try to care less what people think about you. Don’t be distracted by idle gossip or how many likes you got on Instagram. Just focus on you and what you can control. Hakuna Matata!
